Whispers From My Heart

“Life hasn’t started yet”

With sweet sweet memories,

In your mind.

You had great hopes,

About the world outside.

Teenage, adolescence,

Flew past you.

Left dead leaves of memories,

Behind you.

"Life hasn't started yet"

The world told you.

Mocking the conscious,

Inside you.

So you moved on,

Into that dog's world.

As it waited to,

Engulf you.

There was a made race of money,

With emotions kept on sale.

The world had changed,

But you were still the same.

So you wondered,

Sitting on that table,

Thinking about the good old days.

"Life hasn't started yet"

You heard a voice say.

Now you look at the mirror,

Staring at a weary face.

"Life hasn't started yet"

A voice still said.

Maybe life never started,

As you were running a losing race.
